DISEASES OF SOYBEAN - BROWN STEM ROT

Brown stem rot is a disease of soybean that can be easily diagnosed based on symptoms. This disease is caused by the fungus Phialophora gregata which survives in soybean fields associated with soybean debris. The disease is usually first detected late in the growing season. From a distance, soybean fields severely affected by brown stem rot will have a golden cast.
