DISEASES OF ALFALFA - SEEDLING BLIGHTS

One way to clue in on an Aphanomyces seedling blight problem is to look for areas where plants have emerged, but where weeds are outgrowing the alfalfa stand. Typically alfalfa will grow rapidly and crowd and shade out weeds. However, plants infected by Aphanomyces euteiches grow slowly and are not able to adequately compete with weeds.
