DISEASES OF CORN - SEEDLING BLIGHT

Seedling blight of corn is caused by several soil-borne fungi and fungi-like organisms (water molds), most commonly Pythium spp. and Rhizoctonia solani. Because of the soil-borne origins of these pathogens, affected seedlings often occur in patches.
