SIGNS OF VIRUSES

As noted previously, viruses can only really be seen using an electron microscope. This photo (electron micrograph) shows viral particles magnified about 100,000 times. These particles are spherical in shape (actually icosahedral). Plant viruses can also be rigid or flexuous (flexible) rods.
