SYMPTOMS OF DAMAGE DUE TO PESTICIDE EXPOSURE

DISTORTION of flowers is also a common symptom of herbicide exposure as shown in this photo of a rose exposed to a phenoxy-type herbicide.

Note that symptoms of herbicide exposure are often very similar to symptoms caused by viruses or phytoplasmas. Often distinguishing between these three causes is very difficult. Information on recent pesticide applications, the number and types of plants affected, the location of the affected plants, and the presence or absence of possible pathogen vectors may help you sort out whether biotic or abiotic factors are involved, and further pinpoint the exact cause of the problem.
