CHARACTERISTICS OF NEMATODES

Nematodes represent the final, major group of plant pathogens, and these organisms rival, if not exceed, fungi in their complexity. Nematodes are very large compared to other pathogens and can be readily seen with a light microscope and on occasion with the naked eye. They have sensory, digestive, and reproductive organs. Nematodes reproduce through production of eggs, and go through several juvenile phases prior to becoming adults.
